Harry James PotterHe is the only child of James and Lily Potter. Harry inherited his mother's bright green eyes and his father's perpetually untidy jet-black hair. In his younger years, Harry is described as being small and skinny for his age. His most intriguing physical characteristic is a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead, which he gained when his eventual nemesis, the Dark Wizard Lord Voldemort attempted to murder baby Harry with a killing curse. Voldemort also killed Harry's parents and destroyed their home on October 31, 1981. Harry attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Harry is famous throughout the wizarding world for being the only known person to have survived the Killing Curse and subsequently causing Lord Voldemort's downfall. Ronald Bilius "Ron" Weasley He has the trademark flaming red hair of the Weasley family and blue eyes. He is described as being tall, thin and gangly, with freckles, a long nose and big hands and feet. Ron is a Gryffindor student at Hogwarts and is best friends with Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. He plays a key role in many of Harry's adventures. Ron is a foil character to Harry. He is one of seven children and is seemingly ungifted in his wizarding abilities, although being overshadowed by his many talented older brothers may have affected his self-confidence. He usually receives little notice, while Harry's fame almost always puts him at the centre of attention. This sometimes creates a rift between the two friends. The Weasleys' modest financial circumstances shines a light on Harry's fortune, while Harry's lack of family is underscored by Ron's large, close-knit clan. Hermione Jane Granger Hermione is a Gryffindor student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and is one of Harry Potter's and Ron Weasley's best friends, indeed even serving as a maternal influence on both Harry and Ron. Her birthdate September 19, 1979, makes Hermione the oldest of her classmates, as most were born in ca. late 1979/1980. Since Hogwarts only accepts first-year students who have turned eleven years old at the start of the school term on September 1, Hermione was too young to have joined the previous class. She shows considerable academic prowess when compared to her close friends and classmates, but lacks emotional maturity. She consistently responds negatively to Ron baiting her, generally cannot stand either being made a fool of or allowing her friends to be so ridiculed, and has a tendency to flounce off to bed if she is thwarted. Hermione has brown eyes, bushy brown hair and, when she first appears, rather large front teeth. Many at the school have ridiculed her looks, including, on one occasion, Professor Snape. Hermione's position as one of the most intelligent students in her year, which she works hard to maintain, has led to frequent teasing, although Harry and Ron do depend on her for academic help, and her knowledge and common sense prove valuable in overcoming the trio's challenges. Fred and George WeaselyFred and George Weasely are the identical twin sons of Arthur and Molly Weasley and the younger brothers of Bill, Charlie and Percy. They are older brothers of Ron and Ginny, who are both members of Harry Potter's close group of friends. The twins revel in practical jokes and tricks, and are generally considered extremely amusing by both other characters and readers of the books. While their best friend is Lee Jordan - their classmate, dormmate and fellow prankster - the twins are also good friends with Harry, having played Quidditch with him for Gryffindor. In fact, they generally treat Harry better than they treat Ron (no doubt due to Harry's own inner rebel spirit); they love to torment Ron and Percy, but appear to be close with Ginny (who closely resembles them both in appearance and personality) and vice versa. As the rest of the Weasleys, they have flaming red hair and are described as being on the shorter, stockier side like their 2nd older brother Charlie. They are generally considered to be very funny, and seem to be quite popular among the Gryffindors, as well as with many, many people in other Houses and with some of the teachers. Ginny Weasely-She is the youngest of Arthur Weasley and Molly Weasley's seven children, as well as being their only daughter; in fact, Ginny is the first girl to be born into the Weasley family for "several generations". She is described as being small, with long red hair and bright brown eyes. As her character emerges, we learn that she is warm-hearted, loyal and brave and has a fierce temper when riled. She can be unkind when angered, but comforting when sympathetic. JK Rowling describes Ginny as "tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy." That "she's funny" "and very warm and compassionate." Rowling adds, "These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman...And I feel that Ginny and Harry, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey and they've really got over a lot of delusions together."[2] Ginny is a member of the Weasley family, a financially struggling pure-blood wizarding family, and is also a descendant of the Prewett and Black lines through marriage (her mother was a Prewett before marriage). She is sister to Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Ron. More information may be found here- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginny_WeasleyPlayed By-

The Weasely Family
Arthur-
Arthur is described as being tall and thin — a physicality inherited by his third and sixth sons Percy and Ron while his first son Bill only inherited the tall stature but not the thin build — and as having a receding hairline and wire-rimmed glasses; his son Percy also wears glasses. An affable, light hearted man, he tends not to be the authority figure in the family; his wife Molly tends to handle that more than he does, and the only time Ron can ever remember seeing Arthur genuinely angry was when his older twin brothers Fred and George tried to trick Ron into making the Unbreakable Vow when he was a child.
Molly-
She is a witch housewife, married to Arthur Weasley and mother of Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron and Ginny. She is most probably the niece of Ignatius Prewett (who married Lucretia Black). The name "Molly" may come from the word "mollycoddle", meaning to be overprotective toward. Arthur Weasley's nickname for her is "Mollywobbles".
Bill-
Bill Weasley (born 29 November, 1970)[1][2] is a fictional character in the Harry Potter series, the oldest son of Molly and Arthur Weasley and the brother of Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny.
Bill attended Hogwarts as a Gryffindor from 1982 to 1989, becoming both a prefect and Head Boy. Later, he worked for Gringotts Bank in Egypt as a curse breaker.
Charlie-
Charlie is described as having broad, good-natured, weather-beaten face with so many freckles that it looks almost tanned. Charlie's build, like his twin brothers Fred and George, is shorter and stockier than Percy and Ron's, who are long and lanky.
Percy-
Percy is the third-eldest son of Arthur and Molly Weasley's brood of seven (younger brother of Bill and Charlie, and elder of Fred, George, and Ron, and baby sister Ginny). He entered Hogwarts in 1987, is described as wearing horn-rimmed glasses (although he has not done so in the film adaptions), and, like Arthur and Ron, is described as being tall and thin.

Draco Malfoy-Tall and slender, Draco has a pale, sharp-featured face, sleek silverish white-blond hair, and cold, light grey eyes. His family is wealthy, and Harry considers him spoiled, arrogant, and selfish. Malfoy frequently taunts Ron Weasley about his family's poor financial standing and treats Hermione Granger with disdain for being Muggle-born, frequently calling her a "Mudblood". He and his family believe magic should be kept within all wizarding families and shun those they consider "unworthy" to study magic. Lucius Malfoy-
Lucius Malfoy is a fictional character in the Harry Potter novels by J. K. Rowling. The scion of an old wizarding family, until 1996 he lived with his wife and son at the Malfoy's estate in Wiltshire. He was a governor of the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, until he was fired for blackmailing the other governors into suspending the school's headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. He is currently incarcerated at the island prison of Azkaban on charges of blackmail and membership in the Death Eaters, a cult of evil wizards led by Lord Voldemort, the series' main villain.
Narcissa Malfoy-
Narcissa Malfoy (née Black), also known as Cissy, (born 1955) is a fictional character in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. She is the wife of Lucius Malfoy and the mother of Draco Malfoy, two prominent characters, and as the series continues she takes on a larger role.

Vincent Crabbe-
Crabbe is large, has gorilla-like arms, and wears a pudding bowl-style haircut. He is very mean and very stupid, which makes him little more than a "follower" of Malfoy. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, he joined the Inquisitorial Squad. In the third movie, Crabbe, Goyle, and Malfoy, were all making fun of and bullying Ron and Hermione. Harry, under the Invisibility Cloak, pulls down Crabbe's pants, and swiftly kicks his fat bottom, sending him sprawling into the snow. The humor in this is that, when Crabbe left, he was unable to get his pants up, so he would presumably have to hop through Hogsmeade with his pants down.
Gregory Goyle-
Goyle is usually mentioned alongside Vincent Crabbe, who is his friend and fellow lackey of Draco. Goyle is generally represented as the less intelligent of the two. He nearly fails his exams in his first year and is not able to give Dolores Umbridge a simple answer after being questioned about Hagrid's lessons. Goyle, along with Crabbe, fails his Defence Against the Dark Arts O.W.L in his fifth year. His father, Goyle Sr., is a Death Eater.

Neville Longbottom-
Neville is a plump, rather bumbling, Gryffindor student in Harry's year. He has a notoriously bad memory. He shares a dormitory at Hogwarts with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas.
Seamus Finnigan-
Of Irish descent, he has sandy hair and is—like Ron Weasley—a huge Quidditch fan. He shares his dormitory at Hogwarts with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom and Dean Thomas.
He watches the Quidditch World Cup Final with the Weasleys and Harry, of course supporting Ireland against Bulgaria. He also has quite a strong accent. His best friend in Hogwarts is Dean Thomas. His mother is a witch and his father didn't find out until after the marriage.
Dean Thomas-
Dean was born to a Muggle mother and a father who, though a wizard, never revealed this to his family. Unbeknownst to Dean, his father was killed by the Death Eaters when he refused to join them, and Dean was raised by his mother and step-father. Dean has several half-brothers and sisters. Although this information has never appeared in the novels, it is considered canon because it has been mentioned on Rowling's official website and Rowling herself stated that it was a scrapped subplot for the original draft of Chamber of Secrets. It is mentioned that Dean is a fan of the football team West Ham United.

Severus Snape-
Snape attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from c. 1969 to c. 1976, was appointed Professor of Potions, and Head of Slytherin house, in c. 1981.
His physical appearance is that of the classic villain: thin, "hook-nosed" and having "long, greasy hair", clad in forbidding black robes "like an overgrown bat".[HP1] Harry Potter intensely dislikes and distrusts Snape for his chequered past and the animosity Snape displays towards him.
Played by-
Filius Flitwick-
Flitwick is the Charms Master and Head of Ravenclaw House[2] at Hogwarts. His squeaky voice matches his tiny stature; he stands on a stack of books in order to see over the top of his desk and sits on a pile of cushions at the staff table.
Played By-
Minerva McGonagall-
McGonagall has black hair, typically drawn into a tight bun. She wears emerald green robes, and always a very prim expression. She is, according to Rowling, a "sprightly" 70 year old. She wears square glasses which match the markings around the eyes of her tabby cat form (McGonagall is an Animagus - a witch or wizard who is able to transform into an animal at will - the first one to be introduced in the series). She also has a fondness for tartan patterns, apparently derived from a Scottish heritage; even her dressing gown and biscuit tin have tartan patterns. Stern, snappy, and generally reserved, Professor McGonagall has nonetheless been shown to have in mind the best interests of the students at Hogwarts, her wards in Gryffindor, and Harry himself. McGonagall is also one of Albus Dumbledore's staunchest supporters and is still a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Played By-
Pomona Sprout-
She is the Herbology Mistress and Head of Hufflepuff House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She is a dumpy, cheerful witch who wears shabby earth-covered robes and a patched and frayed hat over her fly-away grey hair.
Played By-
Albus Dumbledore-
Dumbledore is described as tall and thin, with long silver hair and a long beard. He has blue eyes, a very long and crooked nose (looking as if it had been broken at least twice) and long fingers. He wears half-moon spectacles. He claims to have a scar above his left knee, its provenance unknown, which happens to be a perfect map of the London Underground.
Considered the most powerful wizard in the world, Dumbledore is benevolent and eccentric, an archetypal good wizard in the style of Merlin. It is said that he is the only wizard Lord Voldemort ever feared.
Played By- Chance
Dolores Umbridge-
Umbridge is a short, squat woman described as resembling a large toad. She often wears a black velvet bow in her hair that reminds Harry of a fly about to be caught. She has a high, girlish voice that Harry describes as sounding like poisoned honey. The name Dolores is derived from the Latin word dolor, or pain, and the name itself means 'Lady of Sorrows', possibly reflecting the misery caused by her actions. Dolores is a widely used name in Spain, related to the Virgen de los Dolores (a Catholic religious icon), as well as Spanish for "pains". The pronunciation of the name Umbridge closely resembles that of umbrage, a word meaning resentment or pique at an often imagined insult. Her surname may also originate from umbra, the darkest part of a shadow, denoting Umbridge's shady nature.
Played By- Chance
Remus Lupin-
Lupin was bitten by the vicious werewolf Fenrir Greyback as a young child, thus becoming a werewolf himself. (Although there is no cure, there is now a potion that allows a werewolf to remain sane during tranformations.) Lupin and his parents feared he would be unable to attend Hogwarts, but headmaster Albus Dumbledore allowed him to enroll—provided certain protective measures were taken. A house was built in Hogsmeade with a secret passage leading to it from under the Whomping Willow. Lupin was smuggled into and confined in this house for his monthly transformations. The transformation from human to werewolf is difficult and painful, and if isolated, will become frustrated and harm itself if unable to attack. The villagers mistook Lupin's howling as extremely violent ghosts. The house was dubbed "the Shrieking Shack" and became known as the most haunted building in Britain. Although it was not actually haunted, Dumbledore promoted this rumour to discourage curious villagers from exploring. It eventually became the Marauders' secret hangout when they achieved complete animagi transformations.
Played By-
Alastor Moody-
Moody is perhaps the most famous Auror in modern times, single-handedly responsible for capturing numerous wizard criminals. Moody is horribly scarred, described as looking as if he had been carved out of wood by a person with only the crudest understanding of the human form. He has lost several body parts, including an eye, leg, and part of his nose in fighting practitioners of the Dark Arts, and is cautious—some might say paranoid— he refuses to eat or drink anything which he himself has not prepared 'as it is all too easy to poison an unattended cup.' He is particularly conspicuous because of his peculiar magical eye which can rotate three hundred and sixty degrees and see through walls, doors, invisibility cloaks, and the back of his own head (hence the nickname "Mad-Eye"). He is also capable of hearing across great distances that his magical eye is able to target (although this ability is only presented in the movie and may not be canon).
Played By-
Professor Binns-
Professor Binns teaches History of Magic and has the distinction of being the only teacher at Hogwarts who is a ghost. It is said that he died while taking a nap in the staff room but continued teaching as though nothing had happened; one could speculate that he doesn't know he's dead yet, were it not for the fact that in Harry's first class with him, Binns "floated through the blackboard." His classes are infamous for being dreadfully boring. Binns does not engage with his students at all; rather, he drones interminable rote lectures about "The International Warlock Convention of 1289," or "a subcommittee of Sardinian sorcerers" in a monotonous voice described as sounding "like an old vacuum cleaner," while the class takes occasional notes in a state of torpor. So tied is he to his dull routine that he barely seems to notice he has students. On the one occasion when his class did attempt to quiz him on a historical subject, he couldn't remember any of their names. A site of some old scribbles, which JK Rowling put on her website in March 2006 reveals his first name to be Cuthbert. This is not really canon however, since some other informations from the scribbles have changed in the books as well.
Played By-
Firenze-
Firenze's first appearance comes towards the end of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, in which he rescues Harry from the evil Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest. Having carried Harry to safety on his back, Firenze is involved in an altercation with the other centaurs resident in the Forest, who object to the symbolic suggestion that centaurs are subservient to humans. They argue further about the responsibility of centaurs to read the future in the stars and whether it is correct to intervene in the unfolding of that future. Firenze remains with his herd but he is clearly at odds on some issues.
Played By-
Rubeus Hagrid-
Hagrid is twice as tall as the average man and nearly five times as wide. He loves animals and magical creatures, particularly those that are unusual or dangerous. Rowling has said that Hagrid has little interest in tame magical creatures because of the lack of a challenge, although he has a cowardly boarhound named Fang.
Played By-
Madam Hooch-
Madam Hooch is a flying teacher and the referee at Quidditch games. Madam Hooch is described as having grey hair, cut short, and "yellow and hawk-like" eyes. Madam Hooch learned to fly on one of the old Silver Arrows, which are now no longer made. They were considered the true forerunner of the racing broom.
Played By-
Aurora Sinistra-
Professor Sinistra is the teacher of Astronomy. She does not appear often in the books. Her classes are held at midnight on the top of the Astronomy Tower, the tallest tower of Hogwarts which is otherwise out of bounds for students. A site of some old scribbles, which JK Rowling put on her website in March 2006 reveals her first name to be Aurora. This is not considered canon however, since some other information from the scribbles has changed in the books.
Played By- NPC
Septima Vector-
Professor Vector is the arithmancy professor. Since Harry doesn't take her subject, she appears very rarely, and has no spoken lines. She likes to give her pupils plenty of complicated homework. Arithmancy is Hermione's favourite subject. A site of some old scribbles, which JK Rowling put on her website in March 2006, reveals her first name to be Septima; however, this is not considered canon.
Played By- NPC
Wilkie Twycross-
Wilkie Twycross is a Ministry of Magic approved teacher, who teaches Hogwarts students over the age of 17, or students that will turn 17 before the upcoming school year, a twelve week course in apparation. He is famous for teaching the method of the three D's (Destination, Determination and Deliberation).
Played By- NPC
Argus Filch-
Argus Filch is the caretaker and (effectively) hall monitor in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series of books. While he arguably does not act maliciously, and is not an evil character, he is certainly both short- and ill-tempered, which has made him very unpopular with the student body. Filch's attempts to enforce the letter of rules against activities such as being outside the dorms late make life very inconvenient for Harry Potter and many of his friends. His knowledge of the secrets and shortcuts of the castle is nearly unparalleled. It appears that the only people who may have known more were the Marauders and the Weasley twins.
Played By-
Irma Pince-
When Harry, Ron and Hermione were trying to find out who Nicolas Flamel was in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Madam Pince was an obstacle to their goal. However, she could do nothing to prevent them from taking a book out of the library's Restricted Section in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, as they had a signed note from Gilderoy Lockhart. Perhaps Madam Pince's most famous moment is in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, when she makes Harry and Ginny's things chase them out of the library for bringing chocolate in there.
Played By-
Poppy Pomfrey-
Madam Poppy Pomfrey is a magical nurse in the Harry Potter series of books. She is in charge of the hospital wing in the school of Hogwarts and is depicted as a stern and competent woman who takes her profession seriously.
