"Don't know?" Kai repeated, slightly surprised. He figured she would, of all people. Wonder where he's run off to then?[/u]
"And... Youko? Was that his name?"

((Pyris, what's your character's mom's name? Or, like, what would she call herself to a primitive tribe of people she was staying with for a day or so?))

((Her name is Kaytara.... And probably she'd just shorten it to 'Tara.))
Pyris gave him a half-hearted glare. What's so strange about not knowing? It's not like we're attatched or anything.
"Youko's here...." she muttered, pulling out a few things that would help the fox demon regain some energy. Pulling the ingredients she found useful, she closed the fridge with her elbow and set them on the counter.
Eyeing the ingredients, she began making a decent club sandwich. From what she gathered, it was the only thing the situation really called for. It won't help as much with the blood loss.... but I can't make anything with beans... and I don't have time to cook pork.
After finishing, she paused while pondering on whether or not to make another. After a moment of staring at the sandwich, she began a new one, figuring she could eat it if Youko really didn't want it.... Even if she wasn't that hungry. Come to think of it.... Did we even get our food? I remember getting my drink.... Slightly frustrated, she ran a hand through her hair.

(('K, thanks))
"...No wonder I was attracted to this place...The pull of a source of angelicy is strong..."
Kratos sat against a crude but sturdily-made wooden framework that was supposed to represent some sort of a back support or chair, the blanket wrapped around him, gazing into a fire in the middle of the hut, across from the old woman. His bandages were folded neatly in a pile, soaking in water in a shallow dish.
The elder saw that he was thinking, and kept her silence, allowing him to do so.
Kratos watched the flames, digesting everything she had told him. Generations ago, the people had once been nomads, but when they'd stumbled upon Akhor's lands, he'd trapped them there. The people had been bound as his slaves for a generation, but when a celestial being--the angel Tara, she'd called herself, a beautiful woman with wings like his own--saw the oppression, she used her power to free them and cast a protective spell upon them that even Akhor could not breach...
The elder had related to Kratos the week she'd spent with them, and how she'd heard rumors of an immortal trapped at Akhor's castle...And how she'd thought it was a male angel, and that she's come to find him, but she couldn't...
Kratos scowled. At that point, he'd hated Akhor even more for keeping him in the deepest dungeons, far away from the light of day, far deeper than Tara dared venture into the creature's lair...He had no idea he'd been so close to being rescued...
He drew his wings and the blanket around him as a cold gust of wind battered the tent wall. He looked up to find the elder gazing steadily at him, her own fur clothing wrapped around her.
"I am sorry that I cannot provide you a warmer setting," she apologized quietly. "Tara found it difficult as well...Are all angels susceptible to cold?" she asked.
Kratos looked down again. "Generally, not especially more than humans, but out physiology prevents us from wearing warm clothing, and our wings are a source of great heat loss. Feathers are not the best insulation. It is never cold in Heaven."
The elder nodded understandably. " Would you like another blanket, then?" she asked.
"...Not if you have to get up to get it," Kratos replied. "Is there another on-hand?"
"I can have another brought, if you'd like," she said.
Kratos shook his head. "I will be fine."
"Are you sure?"
Kratos nodded. "Yes. Thank you."
The elder continued to watch him as Kratos returned his gaze to the fire.

"It may," Youko agreed, "but Pyris isn't the only one I'm around. She may find my presence welcome, and I am starting to feel more comfortable around her myself. However, there are the others. Kai hates me, I know that very well already. And Kratos, I'm sure that the last thing he could use around here is a constant reminder of his deceased friend."

Zeriah gazed at Youko steadily, steely blue eyes unblinking. <If it's such a problem, venture on with Pyris until she gains control of herself. I'm assured that neither her nor Kratos would like you to be alone. There are always other options.> Zeriah couldn't say he disagreed with the fox-demon.. He did look just like Sesshoumaru, and Kai didn't seem to have taken kindly to him. Pyris may have taken some sort of kindling to him, but he was still unaware of what type of problems may arise with her training.
<Pyris may want you to stay for your own safety. She is more knowledgeable than she seems..... I myself am unsure of the angel's personal control.> He said it rather bluntly, so that there would be no misunderstanding to the demon's position. <If you stay with Kratos, have faith in him, and he will treat you well, I'm sure. He has already said that you are not unwelcome. The only one he would truly hurt... is himself.>

Youko put a shaking hand to his head.
"Either way will hurt Kratos...whether I leave him, or stay with him...at the very least, Pyris does not have any compunctions with me traveling with her, should I choose to. Or at least she doesn't show any. And hopefully, neither do you."
He relaxed onto the bed, mindful of the wound on his back.
"This decision requires more thought..."

Kai gave her a sideways glance in response to the half glare, but didn't comment on it, "Kinda seems like that guy is taking Sesshoumaru's place." He said, turning away from Pyris and taking a seat at the table.

Pyris paused in the middle of pouring some orange juice, putting the carton down slowly. "For Kratos? ..... I can see what you mean. Does it bother you?" Her hands no longer needing her attention, she turned to Kai and eyed him carefully. It almost sounds as though he cares for Kratos...... He didn't give off that impression before.
As if on cue, her wings twitched slightly at the discomfort of drying blood. Eyes widening slightly, Pyris glanced at her wings, only then remembering that Youko had bled on them. I should clean that up.... *
Zeriah watched Youko carefully, skimming his face for hidden emotion. <I do not see you posing any harm to my companion, so I have no contingencies.> With a lazy stretch of his wings, he made himself more comfortable on the matress. He preferred the pillows in general, but he would not lay next to the head of a stranger.

Kai was silent for a moment before answering, "No, not really." The emptiness in his voice indicated that wasn't his real answer, for he was still thinking about the matter unconciously, "I just don't like him."
What does Kratos think about it?

"Hmm..."
Now that it seemed that the main point of conversation was dying down, Youko was starting to give in to his fatigue. Maybe it wasn't a good idea, or it wouldn't have been if he were normal...but he simply couldn't help it. Slowly, his eyes closed and he sighed, feeling all the more lightheaded.

<Pyris, he's dozing off,> Zeriah's cool voice flowed through her mind shallowly. She hadn't realized they were that far apart. Youko was a demon, and blood loss usually didn't claim the lives of demons if the wound was compressed, so she wasn't too concerned.
"What don't you like about him?" She turned the knob on the sink slowly, turning the water entirely cold before stretching her angelic wing to cleanse the blood from it. Dipping her hand into the water, she pulled her wing closer to it while drizzling water on the bloody spots, using her nails for the tougher spots. Unlike Kratos, she wasn't particularly meticulous about her wings; she supposed she got that from her demon half. Just watch him for negative symptoms, and call if he starts to feel pain agian.
<Very well. Be sure to finish whatever you're doing quickly. He'll need the energy shortly.>

"I don't like dogs." Kai responded, knowing how prejudiced that sounded.

Stopping only briefly, Pyris glanced over at Kai before moving on to the next wing, switching the water from cold to hot.
"...... That's idiotic." There really wasn't that much blood on the leathery wing, but she wanted to clean it of none-the-less. When she woke Youko up, she didn't want him to see it, even if you could still see light stains on the feathers of her other wing. Returning to the task of filling up the glass of orange juice, she gave her wings a final stretch before folding them down against her back. I don't really think he's that shallow.

Kai pushed his toast around the plate with a finger, "I know." He really wasn't that shallow. He didn't like dogs for a reason, and that was because they scared him. Honestly, Youko had scared him when he'd entered his room accidentally, and throwing stuff at him had simply been a reaction. But he wouldn't tell them that.
