An almost maniacal laughter came from the well-dressed devil, stepping closer just a tad bit and folding his arms over his chest.
"What? Not even going to bother to prepare? My, my...how overconfident of you. In that case, I'll give you a reason to prepare!"
He began to laugh once more, but...something odd was going on here. With each breath he took in to laugh, the deeper the tone became. It took only a few breaths for it to sound like a voice straight out of hell, booming as it continued to mock Reiki. Then when he stopped, a sound that could only be described as "religious chanting" started up. The words the voices spoke were unable to be fully heard, but the voices were numerous nonetheless and created the sound effect of a gathering religious crowd. Chattering and humming, bellowing and whispering words that were of ancient origins.
Stella's eyes gently closed as he became much more relaxed, his entire body becoming loose as he began to slowly sway to and fro, back and forth. The voices were as loud as they could become and sensing this, the well-dressed devil's hands uncontrollably began trace circles in Reiki's direction. Definitely not a good sign.

Akura, can you-
((Already.))
((Abbott. Can you listen while you fight? I need to know if these people have anything to do with your deal with Hell. And if not, exactally what you're deal was.))
The only movement the Demon made was the slight slide of his foot, as if he was locking his feet into position, and one had been just slightly off.

Abbott was still watching the giant fly through the air with mild amusement and slight confusion. He had struck people so hard with the blow before in past street matches, killing them instantly, but he never really had one of his foes been sent so high in the air it took minutes for them to come back down to Earth. Raising a brow, the Scot began to wonder about this. This, namely the power that was in his blow, wasn't normal at all for him. It was so exaggerated almost. Abbott was beginning to become concerned with this when he heard the snake's words reaching out to him. Pulling his sleeve back, he checked his watch comically, responding with a simple [Listen while I fight? No need. The way this is going I have at least five more minutes to spare.]
Blinking, he scratched underneath his chin as he really thought about it.
Gritting his teeth, the mention of their "powers" brought his attention to what Stella was doing. He remembered seeing something similar before...the chanting...but where did he remember it? The memory of it seemed so vague. Turning his sights back on the midair Totentanz, Abbott began to contemplate the deal he made with the devil...and the night it happened. The color drained from his face as he sighed heavily.
[...I was dying on the street...laying there on the sidewalk, watching the blood pool around me and slowly seep into the storm drains...All I remember is whispering to myself that I didn't want to die, not that way at least. I was afraid of it...for all the people I killed....bad things I done...I was afraid I would go to straight to Hell for it and then I pleaded with something that wasn't there...begging for another chance, no matter what it meant...and then everything went black. Next thing I know, I wake up...here. At first I was surprised that I was alive and then later thankful for my prayer being answered...but...I noticed things...I felt...dirty. Twisted. Tainted. Every time I would walk into the church or see the cross...I would become weak, sick even and it's getting worse with each day that passes. I haven't slept since I've gotten here either...I'm haunted by those demons in my closet, flashing bad memories at me every chance they get...That's I know, I'm afraid. I know as much about this as probably you do.]

Reiki nodded in response, not moving a single inch anywhere else.
((Do you know what this guy is doing?)) Akura further inquired.

"I c'n move, but...but..."
Sesshoumaru dug his claws into the dirt, looking nervous. Fighting was all he knew how to do, and he hadn't fought for so long it was driving him bonkers!
All summer. He'd not fought all summer. He'd gone through that before, obviously. No school, no reason to defend himself. Now, however, his paranoia over getting custody of his brother had added to his paranoia of being expelled from high school, and fighting had seemed like the ultimate sin, and yet the ultimate release.
"Fuck me, I don't know what to do anymore..."

"Rory, slow down! I can't keep up!" Avera yelped, the golden retriever pulling her and the other dogs through the park. Her part-time job was walking these monsters: A retriever, two Yorkies, and a trio of Heelers. Most of her golden hair had fallen from it's organized braid as the big dog drug her along.
She felt a strange burst of power waving from part of the park.... the part Rory was dragging her towards. "Rory! Stop! Sit! Stay! BAD DOG!" she yelled as the dog pulled the leash from her hands, effectively tossing her in the dirt, in the middle of a small crowd of people. People waved away from her, as if she were diseased, as she stood and brushed herself off.
That's when she saw them... Some of those people were from her school. Actually... some were in her class..... She saw one leaning against a tree, with another standing before him.... He seemed ineberated. The other two boys were standing in front of two other men.... One was well-dressed, but not exactly handsome... Something was off about the pair that she couldn't really place.
One of the boys was from her school. She recognized him as the one some of the girls she'd overheard called 'Reiki.' The other looked vaguely familiar, but he was so pale... It was frightening. She stepped up cautiously, wondering what the man was doing with his hands, when her eyes recognized the collection of power rotating around him. He's going to attack with something! I can't recognize it... It's too late to copy it.... What can I do?! It was definately an offensive move, but she couldn't recognize the type of power it was. Grasping her necklace, she searched the void of knowledge for the powers she had mimicked for protection... She knew there was one for each type of attack, but she was searching for one that was good for almost any attack.
When she finally found it, she moved. Rory and the others had run off, and she'd just have to explain what happened later. They usually just ran off to romp around in the foutain or to play with other dogs. With steely determination to protect people she didn't even know, she ran out into the small circle they were in, raising her hands before her as a light green barrier flew out from them, covering the space in front of the two boys.
She only hoped it would help.

(( Definitely not baking cookies, that's for sure. )) Abbott sent back to Akura through his mind.
Oh man. He wish that little silver-haired bastard was though. Abbott would've killed for a chocolate chip cookie right about then. Maybe even a warm glass of milk. Then again, he'd kill for any meal than fight these guys.
From the looks of it that power he was going to unleash was immense, but the nature of it still unknown. Abbott's shining blue eyes, darted from the giant still in the air toward the cocky ass that now planned on dealing out a whole lotta hurt. Cringing, Abbott watched as what seemed to be...a door? Was it a door? Yes. It was a door. A door appear between Stella and the rest of the group he faced. Slowly it began to materialize before their very eyes, first seeming to be nothing more than an illusion, but now as realistic as ever. Blinking, the Scot cocked his head to the side, black locks flopping against his head in slight confusion. Forgetting all about his current foe, he tapped his chin, tongue sticking out as he nibbled on it in deep thought.
"...That looks awfully familiar. That door...Hm. I just can't put my finger on it."
It was when the swirling chains came into view on the door and the several locks rattled that he recognized it.
"OH SHIT! COVER YOUR EYES! DON'T LOOK INTO IT!"
Oh God. He remembered what that experience was like. It felt like it took him years to figure it out, when it was only a matter of minutes. He could've sworn it drained the very life out of him. He definitely DID NOT want any of them to experience that...and if any of them did by accident, he'd go right along with them, though he gritted his teeth at the very thought. Before he covered his eyes, he noticed that some quite random girl just popped up out of nowhere to help them. Raising a brow, he flailed his arms about wildly.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!? Get the fuck out of here! This shit's gonna hit the fan!"
And he really meant it too...he knew that this "Stella" was a cunning guy. A strategist. Stella knew that Abbott would recognize the door...they were going to use the door to give them an unfair advantage. If Stella's plan worked, none of them would be allowed to use their sight in the battle that would continue. Not even magical powers could be used due to the unholy nature of the door's power. Any way of perceiving it in any visual manner would activate its horrifying power. They would all be left fighting blind. Seeing the chains slide off like slithering snakes and the locks shattering, the Scot dashed for the girl, arms pumping like pistons in unison with his legs. Sure, he didn't know her, but he'd rather not have such a disturbing experience befall a person that was so willing to help. Once he reached her, his hand shot up, shielding her eyes.
"Keep them closed. Got it!?"
Was all he said. Not a hello. Not an introduction. Just a command. You gotta love a Scot's first impression.

((Care to explain what's going on?)) Akura was a snake. He was blind. He had no need to close his eyes.
Reiki on the otherhand shut them the moment the words left the other boy's mouth. He really didn't like the feeling he was getting from that door. It was obvious it was dark, but something just felt, off...

(Dub, I totally have an idea for this, if you don't mind me making use of Tenseiga's power. I'll post, and you tell me what you think, 'kay?)
Sesshoumaru growled, putting himself between Kratos and that door and giving it a momentary glance. But before he could shut his eyes, he sensed a sort of disturbance.
It's...behind me? On the...other side of the tree...?
Curiously, he craned to look around the tree that Kratos was leaning on and saw the glint of a shining black sheath. Instantly, he moved to go behind the tree, stumbling a little in his haste whilst inebriated...and there was the very sword that had been taken from him just today.
"Tenseiga..."
He reached out to touch it, so that he might verify that it wasn't an illusion, but the sword was as real as he was, and the instant he put his hand to it, it pulsed once more, as if resonating with it's owner.
"This is some freaky shit," he said, having only seen this kind of stuff in movies. Slowly, he picked the blade up and drew it. His eyes widened as he realized that the keen-edged katana was practically glowing with energy, a dark blue with light blue mixed in it...almost like shadows, but not quite.
The pulsebeats of the blade rang through his body, seeming to cause that energy to wash over him. The longer it stayed in contact with him, the more lucid Sesshoumaru became. It was as if Tenseiga was siphoning the alcohol out of him, so that he would no longer suffer under its side-effects.
It's healing me.
Sesshoumaru was unsure how he knew that, but he simply did. The sword...it was telling him so. It didn't make sense, but it seemed like Tenseiga had a use besides being an ornament in his home.
This is a memento of my real parents. My real parents are demons, so, does this mean that this is really a demon blade? Could that be so?
The demon's expression grew emotionless as Tenseiga's energy washed over him, completely covering--no, absorbing into his youki. The sword's aura and his own were now one, and with that, he seemed to learn more of the blade. It was as if it were pouring its own memories into his now lucid mind.
Tenseiga...is the Heavenly Life Fang...it was forged of a demon fang...it is a sword of the other world.
The door that Abbott had warned him from no longer seemed to daunt him. It was of the other world as well. And now he had a weapon against it. He could now fight. But first, he had to take care of something.
"Kratos."
Come on, sword. Put that same aura around him, he thought, ordering the blade to do his will. Some of the blackish-blue aura swirled away from him, licking at Kratos's body. It quickly assimilated around him, almost making him glow with the dark energy.
"Close your eyes, Kratos...I've gotta test and see if this sword's aura really does protect against that door, whatever it is," he said softly. "I think it does, but you don't need to be sacrificed for a guess."
I do.
He stepped forward, towards Reiki, Abbott, and that Stella guy.
I need to know. I'm the only one who can find out...

Normal people would have freaked out in this situation. A normal person wouldn't have tried to help these people. A normal girl would have screamed if a giant door came out of nowhere.... but no, Avera couldn't be normal.
She didn't mind the door at all. In fact, she thought it looked like the Door of Silence in one of the fantasy novels she read. She thought it was 'kind of cool.' Her problem was, there was a guy with his hands over her eyes.
In her family, it was a great sign of trust to allow someone to cover your eyes, because your eyes were the source of your power. She did not know, let alone trust, this person. She felt violated.
Her hands flew to her face, pulling at the hand. "MY EYES! Let go! Don't touch them!"

OOC: I apologize for the long delay guys. Between being sick, a family member passing away, and recent conflicts with a sibling (and trying to surgically remove his head out of his ass)...well...hasn't really been much time for anything. Everything's chill now, so I have more free time on my hands and far less stress. I'll be writing something up here soon. Until then, I'll send SD the info. on the door. Sorry again guys! Much <3, Dustin/Dub/James/Jim/Jimmy.
