Dragons of Fire and Ice: Pyris' Beginning.
There are two kingdoms. Fire and Ice. Of each of these kingdoms, is a Gaurdian Dragon: The Ice and Fire Dragon. The fire dragon can only breath fire, and the ice dragon.. ice. These two kingdoms have been rivals for years. They often fight and wage short yet terrible wars against each other. The two dragons try hard to keep the peace, but the fire dragon is becoming overwelmed, and is begining just to go along with his kingdom. If the fire dragon gives in, mass war will break out, and the two dragons will fight, resulting in one's death.
Pyris sat on her rooftop, searching the sky. She pulled out a small white dragon from the depths of her trench coat pocket. "Zeriah, I haven't seen Dad in a very long while." Looking around, she dropped from the rooftop, landing solidly on the ground. "Maybe I should start on that journey that I began so long ago. What do you think, my friend?"
The dragon squalled with happiness as she stroked him calmly. He crawled out of her hand and up her arm, perching on her shoulder. "I think I shall. I'll look for my mother. Let's see." She sat with a light thud onto a nearby bench. "Dad said she was 'a lady of ice.' Maybe that means she was about as great as Dad was.....Only with ice." Zeriah curled up in a tight little ball along the curve of her neck, making it difficult for her to turn her head.
With a deep sigh, Pyris went inside and began to pack some of her belongings. She hooked a chain the loop of her pants. It flapped in protest against her thigh. She dug in a drawer for a moment, then pulled out a short sword. It's broad blade would cover almost a third of her back. She slid the blade into a sheath along her spine. "I hear the fire kingdom is dangerous." She shut the drawer abruptly, and stood before a small sword display. After shortly examining the various blades, she pulled a long samurai type sword from it's sheath. "Yes, I'll bring the marasume." She detached the sheath from it's stand and slid the sheath and blade on. "I think I'm ready."
Calmly, she stepped outside and gazed at the gate before her. "I should search the realm of ice first. Where else would a lady of ice reside?" Yawning, Zeriah looked up at the gate. Pyris lifted him gently from her shoulder and placed him in her pocket. "Stay there. People might react in different ways to you, my friend." She pushed at the gates with little force. The gates swung open with a loud moan. As she stepped out, she looked over the two kingdoms. "I will find her, Zeriah."
She made a little note: Great story! A little short, but it's wonderful! (I didn't like it that much...But I made a great score! She also said something about my spelling....Oops.)
