A women's loud, blood-curling scream echoed throughout the forest. There was a loud CRACK as a tree fell, landing with a few quiter snaps and a loud 'thud'. The scream came again, closer to Tobias this time, and more terrified. The ground shook beneath Tobias' feet like a mini earthquake, and the rocks shifted around him.
Tobias tensed, bending his knees to brace himself against the shifting and groaning earth beneath him. He can't be here...No, how could he have followed me? That's impossible...
And yet, it was. The ground began to tremble with more ferocity, until Tobias lost his footing entirely. He tumbled to the ground. Big mistake. The second his butt hit the dirt, it sunk like quicksand. Because it was in quicksand.
"Damn you, Slysheeth!" he yelled, struggling to stay afloat and free himself.
A lizardlike reptilian humanoid creature hissed with laughter somewhere behind the trapped teen. "Foolissshhh child...Thissss isss your punishhhment for trying to flee my grassssp...Your friend hassss already been captured..."
"No, not Eyrika!!" Tobias reached out a hand toward Slysheeth, as though he could bring her back. Slysheeth just hissed with laughter again, then gestured backbehind him. Tobias stopped struggling as the quicksand solidified around him, trapping him without hope. He watched helplessly as a girl about his own age, 17 or so, was dragged into the wasteland from the treeline of the forest at its edge by another reptilian humanoid. Eyrika was unconscious and bound, bleeding from several minor cuts and scrapes.
"Will you sssssurender to me, Tobiassss? Or will ssshhe sssssuffer for your sssins?" Slysheeth grinned leerily, revealing fangs and a row if razor-sharp carnivorous teeth.
"What will you do to her?!" he asked, his eyes locked on the woman, a deep concern on his face.
"That would ruin the fun, if we told you," Slysheeth replied, still grinning. "Ssssurrender?"
"..." Tobias looked from the lizard to the girl, then back again. After a long ten seconds, he hung his head. He couldn't put her in that sort of positiuon. It had been his fault they'd been captured, anyway. His own haughtiness and overestimation of his own strength had lowered their guards too much...
...And now he would pay the ultimate price.
"...Fine. Just...don't hurt her. I'll come with you."
"Excccelent," Slysheeth hissed. He watched as Tobias rose from the earth and approached him silently, resigned to his choice.
"It'ssssss not that bad, oncccce you get ussssed to laboratoy life," the lizard said. Tobias didn't look at him. "The...transssssfusion isss relatively painlesssss..."
"Just shut up and let's go already!!" Tobis said, staring at the ground.
"Oooo...eager, are weee? Very well, then..." Slysheeth took Tobias' wrists and bound them with earth in front of him. "Let'ssss go."
"Wait. What about Eyrika? Let her go, first." Tobias refused to move until then.
Slysheeth just grinned again. "Fool...That wassssss not part of the deal...She comessss back too..."
"What?! No!! You bastard!!" Tobias made a move to hit Slysheeth, but the serpent was too quick, and delivered a powerful blow to the teen's head, knocking him out instantly. Tobias slumped into Slysheeth's arms, and the serpent smirked.
"Good...Now, let usss return them to the laboratory...It issss time they were...transformed."

A women's loud, blood-curling scream echoed throughout the forest. There was a loud CRACK as a tree fell, landing with a few more quiet snaps and a loud 'thud'. The scream came again, closer to Lob this time, and more terrified. The ground shook beneath Lob's feet like a mini earthquake, and the rocks shifted around him.
Lob's training was interrupted by a young woman running into him. "Hey baby, what's the matter." He asked as she fell in his arms.
"W..w..we must run." she told him in a frightened voice.
Lob looked at her distastefully. "Run? I don't gotta run from nobody lady." Just as he finished his words, a giant came towering above the tree lines. "Maybe you were right." He grabbed the woman by the hand and ran as fast as he could, well as fast as he could pulling another person, away from the enormous creature.
They came to a clearing well away from the giant in pursuit. "Now just what in the hell was that?" Lob gasped. "He is Goliath the Devourer." She went on to explain that that was the name the villagers had given him, based on his never ending hunger. "Our harvest was so short this year. We were not able to appease his hunger."
"He's hungry huh?" Lob was angered by tyrants. He didn't care how big they were. "Well maybe he'd like a knuckle sandwich." He turned to go back, but the young woman had had grabbed his arm.
"Please don't go after him. He's too strong." She pleaded
Lob jerked his arm from her. "Don't worry baby. I can take care of myself." He then continued to run back to where he had seen the giant. To his disappointment, the giant was nowhere to be found. Lob then began to travel in the direction the giant had come from. After a long walk, Lob saw a town covered in flames.
"I told you not to chase him." A voice said behind him.
He turned and saw the woman he was protecting earlier. "Whoa, what happened to you?" He said in recognition of disfigured face. "I thought you was kinda hot."
"You superficial bastard, how dare you insult me." She shot a flame at him that he easily dodged. "Do you think I wanted to look this way." She touched her face and felt the scars. "It's their fault." She said as she pointed toward the town. "And they must pay!"
Lob looked at the woman floating above him. He couldn't believe his eyes. "Sooo, you're a witch I guess. I never fought one'a ya'll before." Lob took his fighting stance.
The witch saw him and darted toward him, but just before she reached him she stopped "What's happening?" She screamed as her hands and feet began to turn to ash and fly away with the breeze. Soon the rest of her body followed. She slowly screamed out of existence.
"What tha hell?" Lob was confused, but when he looked over his shoulder he could see that the town had been extinguished. " I guess they took care of it." Lob then continued his training, like nothing had ever happened.

(You guys pwn me so much in this, but I'm going to try anyway. A little exercise for Colliding Planes.)
A women's loud, blood-curling scream echoed throughout the forest. There was a loud CRACK as a tree fell, landing with a few quiter snaps and a loud 'thud'. The scream came again, closer to Lewis this time, and more terrified. The ground shook beneath his feet like a mini earthquake, and the rocks shifted around him.
It didn't seem right to be huddled where he was, hiding like a coward, when his mother's people were being attacked. Had it not been for the small babe nestled in his arms... Well, he'd like to think he'd have the courage to go back and defend them. But what could he, a simple boy from Second Plane, do to help them? He'd yet to figure out how, exactly, he'd transformed his crucifix before, when... well, he didn't want to think about that right now.
Ameca whimpered, burrying her face in her cousin's robes. "Mavia, I'm scared," she whispered, using his River Nymph name as always. They all called him that, except for Natteri. Why did such little things suddenly seem to jump out at him right now, at such a dangerous moment?
"It's okay, Amy," he whispered, trying to keep his voice low. "Just be as quiet as possible. We can't let those men find us. We'll be okay, so long as they don't find us."
Panic. That was the reason. All these thoughts were filling his brain because he was panicking. He had to calm himself down, he had to keep his cool. Ameca was depending on him. If he could do nothing else, he would keep his little cousin safe.
"Bring the big rig this way! There're footprints in this direction! He went this way!"
Lewis's eyes widened. They'd found his trail. It didn't quite register to him that they'd said 'he'. If he'd been thinking clearly, he would have wondered why they were looking for a male in an all female colony. But such things weren't on the top of his mind.
"Mavia, what if they find us?" Ameca whimpered. Lewis clamped a hand over her mouth.
"Ameca, you have to be quiet," he hissed. Another tremor shook the earth and the sounds of the attacker's 'big rig' were even closer than before. "Oh, God, please don't let them find us..." he whispered to himself. "Don't let them, don't let them... If you grant me nothing else in this life time, please let me get this child to safety..."
(And I cut it off here. Because I'm lazy.)

A woman's loud, blood-curdling scream echoed throughout the forest. There was a loud CRACK as a tree fell, landing with a few quieter snaps and a loud 'thud'. The scream came again, closer to Paul this time, and more terrified. The ground shook beneath Paul's feet like a mini earthquake, and the rocks shifted around him. "Cut!" yelled Paul as he saw the lead actress, Esmerelda, turn the corner. The sound and visual teams must have worked around the clock to come up with such convincing effects. He signaled to the cameraman to stop rolling, but he was just sitting there, pointing in the direction Esmerelda had come from. Where was she anyway? He quickly looked around, and saw that she had just kept running. His heart jumped, and he ran to the cameraman, to see what had him all worked up. "ROAR!!!" It would have been perfect if someone had been filming them. That roar that shook the leaves on those exotic, tropical trees happened just as Paul got to the cameraman. Paul, even in his fear, couldn't help going through the almost infinite soundtrack in his head to find the right suspenseful music to go with the scene. What he saw... Well, that was hard to describe. The first word that came to mind was "lion," though it was much larger. It was standing on the large tree that had fallen earlier, holding its prey -the Jeep that the crew had come in- between its paws. The beast was magnificent. Its tail, at least three yards long, ended in a hard, black spearheaded shape. Its mane flowed gracefully, not with the wind, but as though each hair had a will of its own. The lion opened its mouth and started its feast, tearing into the metal of the Jeep as though it were the meat of an antelope on the plains of Africa. The mane started tearing off parts, too -the tires, the mirrors, looking for something satisfying. After only a second or so of doing this, the beast decided it wasn't going to find anything good inside, and it started looking around. "Um, run," Paul said to the cameraman as he turned to run himself. He slipped a little on the loose dirt beside the camera, but he soon caught his footing and made some distance. He cringed a little when he heard the loud CRUNCH a moment later. He shook his head and whispered bitterly, "He must not have been a main character..." And he kept running. (Hi, guys, by the way. )
