A place to ask about your characters, request characters, and other profile specific chat.
To request a character you must be able to provide me with a full profile that includes at least the minimums that will be posted in the Profile Rules and a picture.
To request a little known character... You must also play a relatively well known character. And you must be able to provide me proof that the little known one is an actual character by one of the comic companies. (A website link to someone else's site about the character or mentioning the character will do fine) And you must provide a physical description if a picture is not available.
To have more than 2 characters at least 1 must be a villain.
Superheros (vs Heroes) will be awarded on a merit basis. Same with Supervillains (vs Villains)
Examples- Superman is a Superhero, Iceman is a Hero - Magneto is a Supervillain, Sandman is a Villain

I wanted to know how you felt about using dead people like Hawk-Eye, Thor, Jack-of-Hearts, etc..

I'm not limiting this RP to one particular storyline, so 'dead' is a relative concept. In other words yes you may play a character that in the actual Comic storylines has died. This RP is a melding and many of the characters have never crossed before now.

WHo is not a superhero in the marvel comics :/ Profiles chat goes here Frankie, that includes all questions. Now to answer the question... the title of Super will be based on the strength and versatilty of a Hero or Villains abilities and thier drive to take over the world in some villians cases. Most of the characters that have been specifically deemed Superhero by the original creators will probably still be classified as a Super, but not necessarily. For example I do not recall anywhere that Marvel calls the X-men Superheros. They are simply heros if they are even titled that way. Where as Superman has been called a superhero within the comics. So how I will classify characters as Super or not- Yes to any of these will constitute a Super (example of a yes character) A- are they nearly invincible? (Wolverine thanks to his healing) B- is their power so strong that it would always take a combination of other characters to overcome them? (Phoenix) C- is thier power so versatile that capture is nearly impossible? (Mystique) D- do they have more than two powers? (Rogue) E- do they have the drive and ability to take over the world? (Magneto) Folks that wouldn't fit any of those questions are simple Hero's or Villians. For example Gambit, Banshee, Toad or Quicksilver and dozens of others. Even strong powers if they are limited to 1 are still not a Super, like Storm, Colossus or Sabertooth all very strong but all fairly limited.

Yeah, I was just kinda wondering about Zavier's School for the Gifted. Is Wolverine a teacher there, then, or what? Just wanted to check...

That is your choice Hiei. I'm trying to go with the flow of what age/background the players want thier characters to be. For example if some wish to play as Teen Titan members then obviously they must be teens. And the Teens can be any character, it does not have to be the ones from the cartoon, we'll just be using the cartoon as a reference for the locale itself.
Example- I wish to play a slightly older Storm so I'm going with the idea she was one of the first X-men recruited. But others may choose to be older and also teachers or they can still be students if they prefer. Since Wolverine was never a student in any storyline it would be odd to see him as one so I would recommend that he is a teacher or a sub as he was portrayed in the third movie. But it's up to you, trying to teach Logan anything... that could be funny! Of course there's no reason he can't sit in on lessons as an adult too. After all not all X-men come to the group with a good learning background etc, or as children/youngsters.
Now, I will decide who may lead certain groups. Of course Prof X is the main leader of the X-men, Storm is the field leader (not Cyclops like some storylines play it). Magneto is the head of the Brotherhood, with Mystique as his second in command. As for the rest, I'll decide on them as the groups begin to form up. Justice League will be either Superman, Batman or the Martian... not sure with that one yet. Sometimes it might be the first to join a group that gets to lead, sometimes it'll be a character that is more authorative etc. Again this is one of those things I'll have to decide on a case by case manner.

ok I decided to go with Spidey as per your request to pick one. I labeled Mystique as adoptable.

Thank you Lob. Unfortuantely Robin also falls under the popular catagory. The limit for now is just one popular, regardless of what comic company, until I have an idea how many players we're going to get.
Also he can't be both Robin and Nightwing at the same time... Or it's not a storyline I've heard of... I did see one or two of the Titans cartoon where he created Nightwing (I think that was who he was) but I got the impression that was just so he could be a double agent as it were... But I didn't follow the whole storyline so I'm unsure. I would need a clarification of that because as I said before this will not be more than one RP, it just has multiple threads so that we don't get too confused in time or space lol.

Ok I have removed both Rogue and Mystique from the Profiles area. I've decided that I'd rather leave them up to whoever wishes to play them to post them. However I remain with this decision... Since those two lives are so intertwined you must be willing to comform the backgrounds to fit together or you may not adopt one of them. Either A- Rogue must have joined up with the Brotherhood initially after running away. Mystique must have recruited her and 'adopted' her like a daughter. Rogue must have overdrained Ms Marvel (at Mystique's instruction) in order to have her Kree powers of Strength and Flight. That action must have driven Rogue to leave the Brotherhood and she was then found/recruited by Professor Xavier.
Or B- Should someone wish to play Rogue as she was portrayed in the movies then Mystiques player must be willing to go along with that since that also changes Mystiques background.
Either background decision would also affect Nightcrawlers player since the movies do not follow the idea that he is Mystiques son. But this is to a lesser degree since in neither version does he grow up with Mystique.
So the person that adopts one of the two (Rogue or Mystique) first gets to decide on the background. Then if someone wishes to adopt the other (and whoever adopts Nightcrawler) must follow with the same background.

Here's some info. on Robin. When Dick left Batman's group, he started being Nightwing... Batman took on a new sidekick, Timothy Drake. There's another one between those two, but if you want both Nightwing and Robin to be included in the RP, you could just use Tim instead of Dick as Robin.

I just added both of the names because I wasn't sure what kind of storyline it would be that we were going to RP. If it was an RP about The Teen Titans, I'd want to use Robin, but if it's something dealing with the broader universe I would have wanted to use Nightwing.Pretty much it was Dick Grayson, whichever alter-ego, I was aiming for. None of that matters though cause I can't use him anyways.

Hmm... interesting... I didn't know there had been more than one Robin in the comics... makes sense I guess. Thank you Idiot As to the storyline... It will evolve based on whom all is adopted and where in thier comic lives they are adopted at. I'm allowing everyone to choose at what point in the characters lives you want to play them. If they are a teen that's just discovered thier powers... fine. If they are already adults with full training and expereince in a group already that's fine too. Basically we are not going to follow any sort of timeline like the comics themselves have. We'll simply pick and choose the characters we want to play, a whatever point/level in their life we prefer, and then I'll start an entirely original storyline for the overall RP. I'm hoping this will allow folks to play with the character as they want to, not as they think they have to because 'that's how the comics went'. The only time I'll be stepping in and saying anything about backgrounds and such is to enforce that characters that are greatly intertwined by relation (like Rogue, Mystique and Nightcrawler) must all follow the same basic history so that we don't end up with a lot of IC contradictions. If you want to play him as Nightwing Lob I'll allow that since Nightwing is a lesser known Hero despite still being Dick Grayson. He just can't be Robin too.

Hey, star, I was just wondering... Could I play my made-up X-Men character? If you want, I could post her profile for you to read... But only if you want. ^-^

Hmmm... I wasn't planning on allowing made-ups because there are so very many characters that are little known... But we've not had as much interest as I had hoped we would either... So yeah you can post it and we'll see, just make sure to add in a really good description unless you have a pic.
