Tyro nodded, craning his neck over his shouler again as the scent grew stronger. He stood up on his large stepping stone, turned around, and sat back down, eyes on distant horizon.

"It's moving closer," Mathicia said, stating the obvious. She shifted in place slightly, becoming uncomfortable as she did when something strange was nearby. Discomforting.

Just in case anyone did fear her, Kriska kept her pace steady and her body in full view as she approached, hoping to convey the message that she meant no harm.
She wasn't one to speak much at first, though she knew she would have to once she came close enough.

Spying the creature, Mathicia stiffened slightly. "Well, at least now we know what it is..... Sort of," she offered, not sure what to say. I've seen that creature before... what is it?

Firewing lay a bit upstream from the others, busy. The body of a large deer was held in her hand-like front paws as her silver fangs dug into the flesh, tearing off long strips that quickly disappeared down her throat. It was the first good meal she'd had in about three days. Luckily, dragons tended not to need food as often as many other creatures did.
Blood was splattered on her muzzle, paws, and throat, very obvious against the pearlescent purple scales.
Even though one might expect that the bloody carcass in front of her would prevent her from smelling anything else, she was well aware of the others, downstream. She was simply too busy eating to wonder about them right now...

((The natural layer of a forest has the grazers on the outskirts of the forest. The natural order would have them on the edge, where more grass grows and there's more safety from predators, who naturally stay towards the center.))

((Well, Firewing decided to take her meal back to where she is more comfortable. I mean... that's okay, right? She's certainly large enough to do that...))

Tyro chuckled quietly, "Yeah, sort of." He watched as the large reptilian creature approached them. He didn't feel threatened by it. If the animal wanted to attack them, it wouldn't be walking right toward them.

A high screech announced the presence of yet another animal to the river clearing.
"Kriska, Mathicia...And...Tyro, was it?" A bright, amber-eyed hawk glided over the treetops like a bullet, veering around and circling over the group in the clearing. "Quite a union...I'd never thought I'd see you all in one clearing...I got the names right, right?"
Tobias dipped a wing and spiraled down to a branch at the edge of the treeline.

((Oh, hey, would Tobias know Firewing at all, for any reason? That'd be cool...))
Firewing kept eating, busily tearing into what was left of the deer.

Tyro smiled, "Hey Tobias. Yeah, you have them right. Well, I'm not sure about her's." He nodded his head in the direction of the new arrival to the duo's spot.

Krishka would have smiled if raptors had those sorts of facial muscles. Instead, she settled for a wave in Tobias's direction, which to any other animal might have looked rather threatening.
"Yeah, my name's Krishka," she added, turning to Tyro and easily striding closer.

Mathicia pawed the air in excitement, the hawk always had amused her. "Yep!" she exlaimed with a chipper attitude. She turned her gaze quickly to Krishka, aknowledging all the possible threats the new stranger could make. Finally, she decided that the creature didn't pose a threat at the moment. She twitched her nose, making her whiskers shift side to side as she adjusted to the new scent of the raptor-like creature.

Resa's nose twitched as she climbed down from a tree, stopping halfway down the trunk. There were a lot of other animals near the river...
Still, she decided to risk it and finished her descent. The ermine made her way to the water some distance from the others, being sure to keep them all out of her blind side.
