"What brings you three to the water hole at the same time?" Tobias asked, settling himself in a bit more and surveying the river.

"Timing." Tyro replied, giving a small shrug with his massive shoulders. "Coincedense."

"Ah. Good. I was starting to feel that there was some sort of meeting I'd missed...Oh, hold on..." Tobias leapt into the air and dove down to the river, flaring up and grabbing a fish with his talons at the last second before gliding into the air and scarfing it down.

Mathicia's tail flicked at Tobias caught his fish and ate it. "I was here first," she said as if it had some meaning. Water had splashed onto her face when her tail had moved from the water and she began to clean it off.

Tyro blinked, "I forgot about fish." He muttered, bending his head down and peering into the river. Quick as lightning he snapped his paw through the water, bring a fish out and flinging it onto the land opposite him. Leaping over to it, he too quickly ate it.

Mathicia gazed at Tyro. She leapt in the air as something snagged onto her tail and landed on the edge of the river. A fish had clasped onto her and she couldn't seem to get it off. With one final whip of her tail, the fish flew towards Krishka and hit the raptor in the face. Scowling as well as an ocelot could, she flopped down against the ground, growling at the fish.

Tobias fought the fish all the way down, then laughed at Tyro and Mathicia as he watched the fish fly through the air.
"There seem to be a shortage of mice this year," Tobais commented, "so fish are basically all I've had to eat. Not that I'm complaining, mind you..."

Mathicia straightened up, looking at Tobias. "There seems to be a shortage of alot of prey lately," she said flatly. The grazers had been moving farther and farther out, and they had neared the edge of her territory.

Resa half-listened to the conversation of the other animals. The shortage of mice was her main concern. She could do without most other prey, but mice were a particular favorite of hers.
I suppose it's fish today she thought, with a mental sigh.
Fishing was rather difficult because of her small size. Unfortunately, all she could do was attempt to lean into the water without falling in and hope to catch something.

Tobias returned to his tree limb perch and nodded, ruffling his wings slightly and beginning to preen them as he spoke.
“Many predators have noticed…There have been rumors circulating around that it is the workings of the Wizard, putting the squeeze on those of the forest. Some believe that when we are all starving, the Wizard will come and offer us the food we need, in exchange for our loyalty. I don’t believe that second part, personally,” he finished, moving on to the other wing and straightening feathers.

"I wouldn't put anything past him." Tyro said, finishing off the fish that lay before him.

Krishka scowled as best she could in this form when the fish whapped her in the face, but as there had been no lasting damage, she didn't worry about it too much. She wasn't as fond of fish as she was anything else, but now that it came to her, she could eat some fish later.
But it would hardly be enough to sustain her. It wouldn't even be worth considering finger-food, not for her metabolism. Sometimes, it made her think that maybe this forest could only handle one predator of her kind, and that's probably why her being so alone was better...
"Well, if you don't believe the second part, what do you believe? That this is just a normal phase?" she queried, looking over at Tobias.

Mathicia gazed over softly flowing water, pondering the recent prey shortage. It could be the wizard....But we're too many, so he would have to weaken us. I didn't think he'd want our loyalty. She shifted her gaze over to Tobias, watching him preen. Why would the mice flee?

"I don't believe he has food to sway us at all," Tobias said, turning to Kriska. "I think he's just killing them off somehow to weaken the predators, and has no intention of helping those that turn to him in starvation. That's what I believe."

"Hmm...if that's right, then it means we're gonna have to do something...don't know what, but we have to if we want to survive. After all, I'm fairly certain we're all predators," she added, almost humorously but more sarcastically.
