Silvain headed for the doors as they opened to admit the students out, and glanced over his shoulder as he stepped onto the platform.
"By the way...Nice owl," he said, heading to one of the closest carriages. Care of Magical creatures the previous year had taught him about the thestrals that pulled the carriages, but he wondered what they looked like. He'd never seen one.

Valiente could see them, but he didn't consider that a good thing. He'd prefer if he couldn't. Although they were amazing creatrues, the only way to see them was by seeing death. And he'd have loved not to have seen death.
He smiled slightly at Silvain's compliment, 'Thanks. Do you have one?" He followed the Slytherin.

Silvain turned his head slightly, pausing by the coach.
"Actually, yes," he said. "A black pygmy."

"Oh, awesome!" Valiente walked past him, taking a seat in the empty carriage, "Where is it?"

Silvain blinked, and took his hand off the carriage. "...With my trunk, in his cage. He's being brought up to the castle. Now, if you'll excuse me..." He looked around for another empty carriage, but most of them had already been claimed and were moving toward the castle.

Valiente's green eyes narrowed slightly, and he hid a smile. Personally, he didn't understand the battle between Gryfindors and Slytherins. Well, he did, he just thought it was stupid.

Silvain scowled, then looked up at Valiente with a sigh.
"Alright, since apparently there's no other carriages free, would you mind if I shared this one with you, or would the whole Gryffindor-Slytherin Untouchable thing apply too strongly?" he asked dryly.

"Not at all." Valiente responded, gesturing to the seat across him. He'd just been wondering about that whole thing, and he was Silvain bringing it up. He really didn't care. A person was a person, were they not?

Silvain blinked, genuinely surprised. He hadn't expected Valiente to allow him on, even though Silvain had gotten there first.
"...Thanks," he said, climbing up and sitting opposite Valiente.

"No problem." Valiente glanced up at his shoulder as Cara vacated it. She hopped down onto his lap, and walked out to the edge of his knee, staring intently at Silvain.

"Hm." Silvain shifted as the carriage lurghed into movement, and looked at Valiente's owl.
"That's a very well-trained bird," he commented, noting its gaze at him.

Valiente smiled slightly, "Thanks. She's pretty much naturaly that way." The boy hadn't done much training as far as the bird went, for she was quite clever.

"Hmm. You're lucky then. It took me the better part of a day to get NightWing back in his cage after I'd let him out the first time," Silvain said. "But then again, it's not his fault. His cage is too small, and my parents never remember to give me money to buy a bigger one..."

Valiente gave him an understanding look, "Understandable. I know Cara would hate to be stuck in a cage too small for her."

Silvain nodded. "Most creatures would hate that, I think..." He sat back, and glanced up at the school, absently thinking about how simple it was to talk about something as trivial as owls with a member or a rival House.
