Valiente nodded, glancing down at the black beast that pulled the carriage, "Yeah. I'm sure they would."
Cara hooted, catching the boy's attention, and flapped her wings a couple times as she hopped from his leg, to Silvain's.

Silvain flinched, then looked from the bird, to Valiente, unsure of whether to condone the action or wait for Valiente to take her back.

"Cara!" Valiente reached out for the bird, and drew her back onto his lap, "Sorry. I guess she likes you."

Silvain allowed himself a small smile. "No, it's okay..." He'd never been liked by someone else's bird before. Much less a Gryffindor's...
"I wonder why, though," he mused, looking at the creature curiously.

Who stared curiously back, "Beats me." Valiente shrugged, "She tends to be attracted to good people." He smirked slightly.

Silvain raised an eyebrow, and smirked. "I think she's a little confused then. I don't exactly consider myself a 'good person.' Neither do most of the people I meet, for that fact..."

"Haven't proven it wrong yet." Valiente responded, shrugging, "Perhaps she's just curious about you."

Silvain shrugged. "Maybe," he said. "She's a beautiful bird, you must take good care of her..."

Valiente smiled again, "Thanks. I do the best I can, with all I have going on." Of course he didn't elaborate, "What color is your's?"

"Umm...He's black. Kinda weird for an owl, especially a pygmy. He was the only black one there. Really rare." Silvain said. Figuring that Valiente's glazing over whatever else was going with him meant he didn't want to talk about it. Silvain didn't ask.

"Interesting." Valiente glanced down at Cara, then back to Silvain, then up at the castle. They'd arrived.
As the carriage drew to a halt, he lifted Cara back onto his shoulder.

"Yeah. Definitely," Silvain said, rising from his seat and stepping down off the carriage.

Valiente followed, tucking his hands into his pockets once he was on the ground, "Your name's Silvain, right?"

Silvain glanced back. "Yeah, sorry," he said, surprised that Valiente hadn't been sure, yet he'd still had the conversation. "And you're...Valiente?"

The boy nodded, "Yeah." He didn't ask what house the other was in, for he already knew. And if he hadn't, he figured it was pretty obvious, seeing as Silvain had told him, although indirectly.
